"The quiet of the north end of Mille Lacs is rejuvenating and provides the opportunity to disconnect and build memories."

Located only two hours north of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, The Red Door Resort on Lake Mille Lacs offers so many activities for the whole family to enjoy that you won’t want to pack up the car to return.

Proprietor, and family man, Brian Linne says, “The Red Door Resort is a place to get away with family and friends.  The quiet of the north end of Mille Lacs is rejuvenating and provides the opportunity to disconnect and build memories.  When you come to the Red Door, you should feel like you can put down the phones, and get quality family time...but if you have to work, all the resort’s quality accommodations offer high-speed WiFi.”

The four-season Red Door Resort offers plenty of lodging options for the family. Most famously, the Stone House at the Red Door Resort has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, accommodating up to 7 people, with a full kitchen, dining area, and living room so the family can cook, dine, and socialize together.

Don't have a boat?

No worries, The Red Door offers pontoon rentals.

Prefer to stay closer to the shore?

Enjoy a calm afternoon fishing on the docks or swimming out to the lily pad rafts, enjoying the sandy bottom lake and shallow depths for a long way offshore. One of the best aspects of escaping to The Red Door Resort is that they have a wide variety of family getaway activities: an onsite playground for the little ones, a basketball court, cornhole boards, and a Gaga ball pit for some friendly competition!

Rain in the forecast?

The Red Door Resort cafe offers puzzles, board games, and other fun activities. After dinner, bust out the marshmallows for a classic s’more – what better way to end the day than sweet treats and the crackling of a campfire?

Something to do, all year

Though the Minnesota Spring, Summer, and Fall months are usually packed with beautiful weather, we all know how the winter can get, but luckily The Red Door Resort offers the heated luxuries of ice house fishing, which is a fun way to introduce your kids to ice fishing! Most first-time kid anglers think sleeping in a shack on the ice in the middle of a huge lake is worthy of show-and-tell at school.

Of course not every kid likes fishing, and that’s OK – there’s still plenty to do at The Red Door Resort in the Winter. Snowmobiling, pond hockey, and broomball come to mind, and if your little ones think the pile of snow at the end of the driveway at home is awesome, they won’t know what to do with themselves at The Red Door Resort on Lake Mille Lacs!
